Using Granular Waste Tire as a Factor to Increase Shear Strength of Cohesionless Soils

چکیده
Soils are called problematic soils when they do not have sufficient bearing strength to provide a founda-tion for the structures be built on them and these types of need improved with appropriate methods depending their properties. Improvement applied strengthen often cause financial burden. Recently, there studies about use waste rubber tires, which pose an environ-mental risk during storage, as reinforcement material soils. The main purpose this study is examine effect poorly graded sand (SP) mixed granular tires in different proportions (10%, 20%, 30%, 40% 50%) shear sand. For purpose, physical (water content, specific weight, unit weight) mechanical (shear strength) parameters mixtures were determined. According results research, 100% content contributes by certain proportion compared materials containing granular-sized rubber. highest slip resistance value was observed 20% tire mixtures, while higher rates addition provided lower than material. In addition, considering issue terms environmental im-pact, column test carried out mixture rubber-80% no adverse ef-fects pollutants observed.

Bounds on the shear load of cohesionless granular matter
We characterize the force state of shear-loaded granular matter by relating the macroscopic stress to statistical properties of the force network. The purely repulsive nature of the interaction between grains naturally provides an upper bound for the sustainable shear stress, which we analyze using an optimization procedure inspired by the so-called force network ensemble. We establish a relati...
متن کاملThe Limiting Ideal Theory for Shear-index Cohesionless Granular Materials
To model cohesionless granular flow using continuum theory, the usual approach is to assume the cohesionless Coulomb-Mohr yield condition. However, this yield condition assumes that the angle of internal friction is constant, when according to experimental evidence for most powders the angle of internal friction is not constant along the yield locus, but decreases for decreasing normal stress c...

متن کاملInvestigation of Shear Strength Anisotropy of c- &phi Soils
Cohesive-frictional soils are widely used in the construction of embankment structures and due to the method of construction, i.e. applying compactive efforts in the vertical direction in these cases, the occurrence of anisotropy in the soil strength and permeability seems to be inevitable. In this study, attempts have been made to evaluate the shear strength of c-f soils through modifying a l...
